Man’s Search for Meaning is a book by Viktor Frankl that recounts his experiences in Nazi concentration camps and introduces his psychotherapeutic method, logotherapy. Frankl argues that the primary human drive is the search for meaning and that this can be found even in suffering, through creative work, love for others, or by choosing one’s attitude toward unavoidable hardship. The book is split into two parts: Frankl’s memoir of his time in the camps and an explanation of his theory that finding a “why” to live enables one to endure almost any “how”.
